壁紙についての仕様変更は特にないようです。
(PRODUCT)RED™モデル限定のLive壁紙がそれ以外のiPhone 8/8 Plusにも追加されているとの情報あり。

4.7インチのiPhone 8/7/6s/6と4インチのiPhone SE/5s（iPod touch 6）についても変更があっていました。壁紙の明るさを計測する範囲が5.5インチのiPhone 8/7/6s/6と同じになっています。正方形の壁紙を「視差効果」で設定すると全体を測ります。

iPhone Xで縦 : 横が1:1からおそらく16 : 9くらいまでの壁紙を設定すると「静止画」「視差効果」に関係なく、壁紙全体の明るさが測定されるようになっています。他のiPhoneに変更はないようです。→ 追記あり
XにiPadや他のiPhone用の壁紙を使っていた場合には文字の色や背景またはドックの明暗に変化があるかもしれません。意図してするのであれば明るさのコントロールが容易になりました。当サイトでは「ドックを隠す壁紙」の「全部白い壁紙 2 」 に変更があります。

X without landscape mode correspond to landscape?

When the wallpaper with aspect ratio (vertical : horizontal) 1 : 1 to (perhaps) about 16 : 9 is set on iPhone X, iOS measures the brightness of the wallpaper as a whole irrespective of "Still" and "Perspective". There seems to be no change in other iPhones. → There is an additional note.
If you are using wallpapers for iPad or other iPhone on X, there may be changes in the background or Dock brightness, text color. It is easier to control the brightness if intentionally done. There is a change in "Whole White Walls 2" in "Hide Dock Wallpapers" on this site.
