iOSは壁紙の明るさやコントラストなどによってドックを暗くするか、明るくするか、背景をそのまま表示するか、暗くして表示するかを判定します。その閾値が変更されました。ドックはより暗くなりやすく、背景は暗くなりにくくなっています。壁紙がより明るいとみなされるようになりました。閾値は画面サイズによって異なります。11.1までは閾値が高い順に5.5インチ、4インチ、4.7インチでしたが、この順序も4インチ、4.7インチ、5.5インチに変わっています（明るさのみの場合。彩度や色相などの条件次第では順位の変動があるようです）。
iPhone Xのロック画面でコントロールセンターを引き出すノッチ右側の下にバーが出るようになりました。

iOS 11.2

iOS determines whether to darken the dock, brighten it, make the background as it is, or darken it depending on the brightness or contrast of the wallpaper. That threshold has been changed. The dock is more likely to get darker and the background is less likely to get dark. Wallpapers are now considered to be brighter. The threshold varies depending on the screen size. Up to 11.1 was 5.5 inch, 4 inch, 4.7 inch in descending order of thresholds, but this order also changed to 4 inches, 4.7 inches, 5.5 inches. (For brightness only. It seems there is a change in rank depending on conditions such as saturation and hue.)
A bar appears on the right side of the notch for pulling the Control Center on the iPhone X lock screen.
